These Terms govern access to and use of The Payments Corner — an independent editorial and research platform for the payments ecosystem. The publication is built around analysis, not advice; the Terms below reflect that distinction.
1. Acceptance of Terms
Continued use of The Payments Corner — including reading articles, downloading research, subscribing to communications, interacting with AI-assisted features, or scheduling a conversation — constitutes acceptance of these Terms. The Terms apply equally to casual readers, subscribers, and prospective advisory contacts.
Where a specific service or feature operates under additional terms — for example, a future paid research membership — those terms layer on top of these and do not replace them. If you do not agree to any portion of these Terms, please discontinue use.
2. About The Payments Corner
The Payments Corner ("the publication," "the site") is an independent editorial and research platform covering payments infrastructure, embedded finance, banking technology, AI, modern credit systems, and adjacent areas of financial-services modernization. The publication is owned and operated by The Payments Corner LLC, a Connecticut limited liability company founded by Franco Di Pietro.
The publication's purpose is to publish operator-level analysis for senior practitioners: founders, operators, infrastructure leaders, investors, and policy professionals working at the systems layer of the financial ecosystem.
The Payments Corner is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, accounting firm, law firm, or compliance consultancy. References to companies, networks, products, or regulatory frameworks are made for editorial and analytical purposes only.
3. Informational and Educational Purpose
All content published on The Payments Corner is provided for informational and educational purposes. The site presents analysis, commentary, market signals, and contextual research drawn from public information and industry reporting. None of it constitutes a recommendation, instruction, or directive to take a specific business, technical, financial, regulatory, or strategic action.
Readers are presumed to be senior practitioners with the experience to evaluate published material against their own context, obligations, and judgment.
4. No Financial, Investment, Legal, or Professional Advice
Nothing on The Payments Corner constitutes:
- investment, securities, or trading advice
- legal, regulatory, or compliance counsel
- tax or accounting guidance
- a fiduciary recommendation or duty
- a solicitation, endorsement, or recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security, instrument, asset, or product
References to companies, networks, indices, or market movements are editorial in nature. Performance figures, market context, and ecosystem commentary should not be relied upon as the basis for any investment, business, regulatory, or compliance decision. Readers are expected to consult appropriately licensed professionals before taking action on any topic the publication discusses.
The Payments Corner does not act as a fiduciary to any reader, subscriber, or contact.
5. No Client or Advisory Relationship
Reading the publication, subscribing to the newsletter, downloading research, completing a form, scheduling a meeting through Cal.com or any other booking surface, sending an email, or otherwise communicating with The Payments Corner does not — by itself — create a consulting, advisory, contractual, fiduciary, employment, or client relationship.
A formal engagement is established only when both parties separately agree in writing to a defined scope, deliverables, and consideration. Until that written agreement is in place, any conversations, materials, or perspectives exchanged are informational and non-binding.
6. Intellectual Property
The Payments Corner LLC retains all rights, title, and interest in the published material on this site, including:
- articles, insights, research notes, and whitepapers
- newsletter editions and audio briefings
- videos, visual essays, and embedded media
- charts, infographics, and generated visual assets
- logos, brand marks, typography, and visual identity
- AI-assisted summaries, syntheses, and curated outputs original to the publication
- the editorial taxonomy, framing, and structure under which the foregoing is organized
You may share excerpts of published material with clear attribution and a link to the original source. Republishing, redistributing, training commercial AI models on, or otherwise commercializing the publication's content in whole or in substantial part is not permitted without prior written consent.
Trademarks, logos, and product names of third parties referenced for editorial purposes remain the property of their respective owners.
7. Newsletter and Communications
Newsletter delivery for The Payments Corner is operated through Beehiiv. By subscribing, you consent to receive editorial editions, occasional operational notices — for example, account confirmations or material policy changes — and, where you have specifically opted in, promotional or sponsor-supported communications.
Every newsletter email contains an unsubscribe link, honored immediately. Operational communications tied to a specific transaction or feature (for example, a meeting confirmation) may continue after unsubscription where required to complete the underlying interaction.
Subscriber lists are not sold. Beehiiv processes subscription data under its own privacy practices; see the Privacy Policy for details on how data is shared with operational vendors.
8. Booking and Scheduling
Conversations and advisory inquiries may be booked through Cal.com, which operates as a third-party scheduling service. Booking a meeting requires submission of certain personal information — typically name, email address, organization, and any context you choose to provide — which Cal.com processes under its own terms and privacy policy.
Calendar invitations, confirmation messages, and reminders are generated by Cal.com on behalf of The Payments Corner. The publication has visibility only into the data you submit through the booking form; it does not control Cal.com's broader data processing.
Booking a session does not, by itself, constitute an advisory or consulting engagement. The terms of §5 apply.
9. AI Features and AI-Generated Content
The Payments Corner deploys AI-assisted features to help readers discover, summarize, and navigate published material. These features include — and will expand to encompass — semantic search across the archive, an Ask The Payments Corner conversational assistant, machine-generated summaries, and editorially supervised AI-curated signals.
AI-generated outputs are produced by language models drawing from the publication's archive, third-party model providers, and contextual instructions. They are presented as a research aid, not as authoritative output.
Specifically:
- AI outputs may be incomplete, outdated, or factually inaccurate — including the phenomenon commonly referred to as "hallucination"
- AI outputs reflect the model's interpretation of source material at a moment in time and may shift as the underlying archive or model is updated
- AI outputs should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any decision; readers are expected to verify against the cited source material or other authoritative references
- The Payments Corner does not guarantee accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for purpose of any AI-generated output
- Where AI outputs reference or cite specific published articles, those citations are best-effort and may occasionally misattribute or paraphrase the underlying source
Use of AI features is provided as-is. Where an AI-generated answer differs from the underlying published article, the original article controls.
10. Third-Party Services and External Links
The Payments Corner is delivered using a combination of operational services and third-party platforms, including:
- Cloudflare — infrastructure, content delivery, edge security
- Beehiiv — newsletter delivery and subscription management
- Cal.com — meeting and advisory booking
- LinkedIn, YouTube, X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook — social distribution and embedded media
- Polygon.io — market data, where displayed
- third-party model providers and embedded AI services
Each operates under its own terms of service and privacy policy. Use of features that route through any of these services is also subject to that provider's terms. External links published in articles are provided for reference and convenience; The Payments Corner does not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the content, accuracy, or availability of third-party sites.
11. User Conduct
Use of The Payments Corner is conditioned on lawful and respectful conduct. You agree not to:
- attempt to disrupt, degrade, or compromise the security of the site or its infrastructure
- scrape, mirror, or perform automated bulk extraction of content without prior written permission
- misrepresent your identity or affiliation when submitting any form or scheduling a meeting
- use the site or its communications for spam, harassment, fraud, or unlawful purposes
- train commercial AI models on the publication's archive without written permission
The Payments Corner reserves the right to block access, decline communications, or pursue other remedies in response to violations of these terms.
12. Platform Availability
The site, newsletter, AI features, and booking surfaces are provided on an "as-available" basis. The Payments Corner does not warrant uninterrupted access and may suspend, modify, or discontinue any feature at any time, with or without notice. Scheduled maintenance, third-party service outages, content migration, and editorial restructurings may produce temporary disruptions.
The publication endeavors to maintain stable, reliable infrastructure but does not commit to a service-level guarantee for free or unmetered access.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, The Payments Corner LLC and any contributors disclaim liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with use of the site, the newsletter, AI-assisted features, booked conversations, or any reliance placed on published material.
This includes, without limitation, losses arising from:
- inaccuracies, omissions, or stale information in published commentary
- reliance on AI-generated outputs or summaries
- interruption of access or third-party service failures
- decisions made on the basis of editorial material published here
- changes in market, regulatory, technology, or industry conditions that render previously published material outdated
The financial-services and payments industries move quickly. Material published as accurate at the time of writing may become stale, partially superseded, or affected by subsequent regulatory, market, or technical developments. Readers carry the responsibility of verifying that any published material remains current and applicable to their context before relying on it.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Payments Corner LLC and any contributors from reasonable claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of:
- your breach of these Terms
- your misuse of the site or its features
- your reliance on published or AI-generated material in a manner inconsistent with §3, §4, and §9
- any content you submit, transmit, or share through the site that infringes the rights of a third party
This indemnification operates on a commensurate basis — its scope is intended to match the scope of the harm, not exceed it.
15. Privacy
The Payments Corner's processing of personal information is governed by its Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Where these Terms and the Privacy Policy differ on a matter of privacy practice, the Privacy Policy controls.
16. Changes to Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in features, services, applicable law, or editorial practice. The updated version becomes effective on the date posted at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted in a subsequent newsletter edition where reasonably practicable.
Continued use of The Payments Corner after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to a revision, please discontinue use.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or from use of the site is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located within Connecticut — except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim in a different jurisdiction that cannot be waived.
